About MAJEK
Majek is a production company focused on transmedia entertainment. Majek is an acronym for founders Michael Koerbel and Anna Elizabeth James.
Michael Koerbel directed Apple of My Eye, the first film shot and edited entirely on the iPhone 4. Goldilocks, an action series – his follow-up project – was shot on the same device. Michael is a graduate student at USC’s School of Cinematic Arts and the co-founder of Majek Pictures. The aspiring director began his career ten years ago in the rental/staging industry where he found a passion in affecting audiences through visual media. After making a dozen successful short films while living in Columbus, Ohio, Michael decided to hone his storytelling crafts and moved to Los Angeles. With every project, Michael aims to continually stretch the boundaries of technology.
Anna Elizabeth James edited Apple of My Eye, the first film shot and edited entirely on the iPhone 4, using the iMovie app. Goldilocks, an action series shot on the same device, is her most recent directing project. Anna is a graduate student at USC’s School of Cinematic Arts, and came to visual storytelling by studying classic literature. With a BA in Journalism, Anna took her craft for writing to the next creative level, focusing her efforts on screenwriting with the ultimate goal of directing. Anna has sold one romantic comedy and is developing a handful of others under Majek Pictures, a company she co-founded. She aims to create a true transmedia story experience for audiences – where games, novels, and films integrate seamlessly.
